New Year, new healthy cookbooks! One of my goals for 2016 is to go back to cooking good food at home. I love cooking and eating (obviously!!) and it’s really important to me to have interesting meals that are tasty and healthy… Having said that, I’m not one for denying myself the odd burger, pizza or chocolate bar every now and then! Like my mum always says, everything in moderation but for during the week I reach for one of these three books for inspiration.
I’m sure most of you have heard of this one. It’s one I reach for often on the weekends to pre-make snacks, breakfasts and lunches for the week. The recipes are relatively simple with not too many ingredients. One of my favoruites are the Raw Brownies (so easy, so delicious!) and there’s also some fabulous hummus recipes there too!
I only got this one at Christmas but it is fast becoming one of my favourites, I just love Nigella! Her recipes are simple, very tasty and don’t require standing in the kitchen for absolute ages. It’s real convenience food without compromising on quality, nutritional value or taste! Some of my favourite weekday dinners have to be the Baked Chicken Shwarma and a Greek egg dish called Strapatsada! Yum!
This is one of those books that makes you want to eat the pictures! It is full of healthy, nutricious food that you actually want to eat. Even my husband who can be quite skeptical when it comes to things like spiralised veg and raw anything, loved the things I’ve cooked from Get The Glow. One of our supper staples is the Turkey Meatballs with Homemade Tomato Sauce & Courgetti. I also often make the Overnight Bircher (the best portable breakfast!) and Raw Superfood Balls.
