Best of Beauty | Budget Bargain

Sleek Contour Kit Sorry I am so late with this post but things got in the way and I wasn’t able to write it up until now. This week’s Best of Beauty posts (a series created by the lovely Samantha from All The Buzz) are all about our favourite Budget Beauty Buy. Without further ado, here is mine!Without a doubt my best and most used Budget Beauty item is the Sleek Contour Kit in the shade Light. The compact consists of a matte contouring powder, illuminating highlighter and a large mirror. The contour powder is very smooth, silky and easy to blend. The highlighter is a gorgeous creamy colour, finely milled and not too glittery. I reach for this little kit pretty much every day to bring out the contours of my face.  I would also often use the contour powder with a larger brush as a bronzer to add a little bit of glow to my face, if I am not going for a contoured look. The pallet comes in three shades: Light, Medium and Dark. However, if you are very fair the Light shade might still  be a bit too orange, it’s worth checking these out in store and swatching before you decide to buy.

The Sleek Contour Kit is an absolute staple in my makeup bag and for €7.99 it must be one of the cheaper contour palettes out there!

i’m super pale and this kit looks like it should be way too orange but if I blend it well it’s not that bad– i use it quite sparingly as a day contour though, I don’t know would it be orange if i used it heavily at night. Still a great palette though!

Yeah, it’s such a shame they don’t make it in a lighter shade :/ The Body Shop make gorgeous pale matte bronzers (I think they are called Honey Bronze), they are fantastic for pale skin :) x

I love sleek, I have the face form one that includes the blush. I really want some of their new blush palettes

Yeah, I have my eye on the Blush-by-3 palette’s, they look fantastic :)

Do you know if they do one for dark skin x

They do a dark one that looks absolutely fab on dark skin :) x

Love budget beauty tips. The only thing I really splash out on these days is foundation. How do you actually use contouring powder? Is it for cheekbones etc?

I might actually do a post on contouring as I think a lot of people have questions on this topic. Basically, you use the dark powder in the hollows of your cheekbones (the area directly under your cheekbone) to create a shadow there and then you use the light powder on top of the cheekbones. This is the very simplified description, you can contour pretty much everything on your face (nose, forehead, etc.) I will do a full post on it shortly ;) x

oh I do like the look of this, I want their new blush palettes too…ah the decisions ;) I might just have to get the two since they’re so affordable

Haha, my thinking exactly! I have a few of their individual blushes and they are absolutely gorgeous! I have my eye on the Blush-by-3 Lemonade palette, so gorgeous!
